Molly Seidel's explosive entrance onto the trail running scene was prologued by a storied road resume. Starting with a successful collegiate track and field career at the University of Notre Dame, Seidel was a 4-time NCAA champion, 6-time NCAA All-American, 6-time Atlantic Coast Conference champion and 2016 female ACC Athlete of the Year. She quickly graced the world's stage by placing second at her first-ever marathon (at the US Olympic Trials in 2020) and winning a bronze medal in the 2020 Summer Tokyo Olympic marathon. Whatever race or challenge Seidel takes on, she sets a standard of success. In 2025, Seidel found her way to trails and ultrarunning. Before winning a WSER Golden Ticket at Black Canyon 100k, Seidel's longest race was a mere 35 miles. Her status as an elite competitor, however, has been cemented since the begining. She most recently ran the Western States Endurance Race in June, where she faced 100 miles for the very first time, completing the race in 24:29:27.
