About
Harkiran "Harky" Kalsi is an illustrator, muralist, activist, and runner whose work explores identity, community, and belonging. Through bold colors, expressive characters, and large-scale public murals, Kalsi creates art that celebrates joy while amplifying stories often left unseen. Kalsi has created pieces for New Balance, Nike, the NBA, #HerGameToo, and other sports/community-centric spaces. Kalsi's art speaks volumes - not just in the words she uses, but in its joyful "artivism," color, and relentless pursuit of a more accepting, empowered world.
Running first entered Harky's world through a relationship, where she found her own stride through joining a running group and being inspired by her late mentor, Richard Bicknell. Harky started to immortalize her runs and races into maps, shaped by words and colors. Her "wordles" soon were requested by friends, family, and runners in the greater community.
